When I saw this Japanese piece, I knew I needed to paint something to replace the instrument, which is a shamisen, I think.
One of my first thoughts was the snake from Kung Fu Panda. But after an Internet search, the goose character, Mr. Ping, began to make more sense with his long neck and fuller body.
