Most Mormons and probably all Utahns know that when the Latter Day Saints reached the Salt Lake Valley in the 1840s their crops were overtaken by locusts. After prayer, flocks of seagulls appeared to devour the insects in what is known as the Miracle of the Seagulls. (I have a painting in my family room by Minerva Teichert that portrays this.) But what if the locusts also prayed?
